The Work of the Spirit Man and the Truth of Salvation

Preaching is the work of the Spirit, not the flesh. That is why we are commanded to preach. The Word of God is living, and it is spoken from the seed of God that has been planted inside a man. A person who is not born again cannot truly speak the Word, because the spirit man is not yet alive.

The flesh may desire to speak God’s Word, but without regeneration of the spirit man, it lacks power. This is why Apostle Paul said, “When I want to do good, I find myself doing evil.” The flesh is weak, but once the spirit man awakens, there is an inner struggle—truth begins to rise.

When you find yourself correcting error, speaking truth in love, or urging peace and righteousness, that is not pride—it is the spirit man exercising itself. This is especially true for Gospel C students. Having received the Truth of Salvation, you can no longer remain silent. Truth spoken is preaching.

There is no need for unnecessary distance, fear, or anonymity among brethren. That urge to speak truth is evidence that your spirit man is alive and active. The spirit is “kicking,” just like a child in the womb who has reached maturity. Early in pregnancy, there is no movement—but as growth comes, the baby kicks, forcing adjustment.

That is where we are now.

Elevation and Discipline

Elevation means movement from one level to a higher one. Growth demands discipline. The flesh must be brought into alignment with the spirit. When spirit and flesh work together under truth, progress in the Kingdom becomes inevitable.

The Kingdom of God is a city ruled by righteousness, holiness, and purity. There is no bondage there—no dominion of sin. That is why God desires freedom for us.

When we speak of the root of salvation, we are talking about defending salvation—standing for the truth that has saved us. Even if the flesh is still learning, the spirit man rises and says, “This is the truth of my salvation.” Where once you would fight or withdraw, now you say, “Let us make peace.”

That is resurrection life at work.

Revelation and Spiritual Awareness

Revelation is not limited to dreams. Sometimes God places a burden in your heart over time—preparation, holiness, readiness. When Christ draws you closer daily, those thoughts move from the background of your mind into your heart, shaping your life.

What you keep in your heart governs how you live.

The Truth of Salvation

The truth of salvation is genuine repentance and being born again in Christ Jesus. This repentance is not of the flesh, but of the spirit man.

When the spirit man is truly born again:

  • The inner man no longer submits to the flesh
  • The flesh begins to follow the spirit
  • Change becomes visible

That is the evidence of salvation.

When we ask, “Which man?”
We are not referring to the outward man.
We are talking about the
spirit man—the one seated in the gospel.

The understanding we now carry is the resurrection of Christ at work in us.

Evidence: Resurrection Life

Salvation is not proven by words alone. Many say, “Jesus died for us,” yet continue in sin because they do not understand His resurrection life in them.

Just as a child may belong to a parent but not yet understand that parent, a believer may be adopted into Christ yet still lack understanding. That is why the gospel calls every man—and why every man must preach, according to his measure.

Growth Through the Gospel Classes

The gospel gathers people at different stages:

  • Gospel A: new believers
  • Gospel B: growing believers
  • Gospel C: mature learners

Gospel C students now carry knowledge others do not yet have. That is why preaching is required here—not because of position, but because understanding has come.

You now know Christ not only as a Savior, but as your Savior—the One who delivered you from specific sins.

His DNA is in you, and it is growing.

Confession, Truth, and Freedom

Like a prisoner who tells his lawyer the truth in order to be freed, a believer must expose sin to Christ. Confession is not shame—it is freedom.

When Christ becomes your life, truth flows naturally. That is why testimony is powerful. When truth is spoken, freedom follows—even if others reject it.

Truth does not fail.

Learning Christ, Not Just Knowing Him

Ephesians 4:20 says,
“But ye have not so learned Christ.”

Learning Christ means your life changes. When Christ is truly learned, sin loses its pleasure. The gospel calls you to come, see, and stay—until truth transforms you.

As long as sin is enjoyed, exposure will be resisted. But once Christ is known, truth sets free.

Adoption and Renewal

Before Christ, we had backgrounds—but not truth. Christ adopted us through the gospel, giving us a new identity. Remove Christ, and truth disappears.

That is why Scripture says:
“As the truth is in Jesus.”

Salvation requires:

  • Putting off the old man
  • Renewing the mind
  • Embracing the new identity

This is a process, not magic. Old names given by sin—liar, fornicator, hateful—must be exposed and replaced. Exposure is the doorway to transformation.

The Kingdom as Treasure

The Kingdom of God is a treasure. When a man finds it, he sells all—not physically, but by exposing the old life.

You do not need to search for what to preach.
Preach your testimony.
Expose your past.
Those who love truth will follow.

That is how the gospel spreads.

Final Exhortation

Many have wealth, success, and comfort—but lack the Kingdom because they lack truth.

People are waiting for what will come out of your mouth:

  • the truth you have learned
  • the life you have exposed
  • the freedom you now walk in

The secret is simple:

  • Know the truth
  • Keep it in your heart
  • Ask for grace to live righteously
  • Apply what you have learned

That is the work of the spirit man.
That is the truth of salvation.
