கெத்செமனே, ஒலிவப்பழம் நசுக்கப்படும் இடத்தின் இரகசியம் ( The Oil Press,  The Place of Crushing) நாம் இன்று ஒரு தோட்டத்தைப் பற்றி படிக்கப் போகிறோம். அந்தத் தோட்டத்தின் பெயர்  கெத்செமனே . இயேசு சிலுவைக்குச் செல்வதற்கு முந்தைய இரவில், தம்முடைய சீஷர்களோடு சென்ற இடம் அது. நாம் கெத்செமனே என்ற பெயரை பலமுறை கேட்டிருக்கிறோம். ஆனால் இன்று ஒரு கேள்வியோடு ஆரம்பிப்போம்: “கெத்செமனே என்றால் என்ன?” அந்தப் பெயரின் அர்த்தத்தை புரிந்துகொண்டால், இயேசு அந்த இரவில் அனுபவித்த வேதனையையும், தேவன் நம்முடைய வாழ்க்கையில் செய்கிற சில காரியங்களையும் நாம் வேறொரு கோணத்தில் பார்க்க ஆரம்பிப்போம்.   கெத்செமனே என்றால் என்ன? கெத்செமனே (Gethsemane)  என்பது அராமிய/எபிரெய பின்னணியில் உள்ள பெயர். பொதுவாக இது: “எண்ணெய் பிழியும் இடம்”(Olive Press) என்ற பொருளுடன் தொடர்புபடுத்தப்படுகிறது. அந்தக் காலத்தில் ஒலிவப் பழங்களிலிருந்து எண்ணெய் எடுக்க அவற்றை  அழுத்தி, பிழிந்து  எண்ணெயை வெளியே எடுப்பார்கள். அதனால் அந்த இடம்: “Oil Press - எண்ணெய் பிழியும் இடம்.” இப்போது சற்று சிந்தித்துப் பாருங்கள். இயேசு சிலுவைக...
