The Bronze Wall - God's Strength in you
The Bronze Wall – God’s Strength in You
Jeremiah 15:20 And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brasen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
Have you ever felt overwhelmed, under attack, or too weak to stand against opposition? God told Jeremiah, a young prophet with a heavy calling, that He would make him like a bronze wall. Not just any wall — a strong, immovable, radiant one. This wasn’t about Jeremiah’s strength, but God’s strength working through him.
Let’s understand what it means when God says, “I will make you a bronze wall.”
The Nature of Bronze in the Bible
Bronze is made by refining and combining metals. In the Bible, it symbolizes strength that has been tested by fire.
Job 40:18 His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.Revelation 1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
The Purpose of a Bronze Wall
When God tells Jeremiah He will make him a bronze wall, it means:
Unmovable strength against opposition
Jeremiah faced kings, priests, and false prophets.
Yet none could move him, because God fortified him.
Radiance under pressure
Bronze shines when polished.
When we go through trials, we reflect God more clearly.
God fights for you
“They will fight... but will not prevail.”
You don’t need to break down when you’re built up by God.
Application: How Can You Become a Bronze Wall?
Stand on God's Word
Jeremiah 15:16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.
- Scripture is your spiritual foundation. Consume it daily.
Endure the Fire
1 Peter 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
- Don’t despise your trials — they are God’s forge.
Trust His Presence (Jeremiah 15:20)
Jeremiah 15:20 And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brasen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
- You’re not standing alone — God is inside your wall.
Conclusion
You are not called to be a paper wall that folds under pressure.
Not even a stone wall that can erode.
But a bronze wall — tested, enduring, radiant, and backed by God’s promise:
“They will fight against you, but they will not overcome you.”
Prayer
“Lord, make me a bronze wall.
When opposition rises, let me stand in Your strength.
When trials burn, refine me.
Make me unshakable, unbreakable, and faithful —
Not by my might, but by Your Spirit.”
Amen.
