Temples of the New Testament

Temple of the Holy Spirit:

1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

• The body of every individual Christian is the Temple of the Holy Spirit.

Temple of the Jesus:

Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

• In Bible times, the person in the middle is the leader. 
• Jesus says this, When two or three people gathers in synagogue.
• Synagogue is the Temple of the Jesus. 

In Hebrew Knesset 

In Greek synago-geh 

In English synagogue 

• When 2 or 3 of the Temples of the Holy Spirit gathers in the name of Jesus, that is the  Temple of Jesus. 

For Eg: house meeting, prayer meeting, women's meeting, youth meeting, fasting meeting, all night prayer meeting

Temple of the Father God:

1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

• Here You is mentioned in the plural form. 
• God is referred to the Father God.
• Paul is speaking to the church in Corinth. 
• so the Temple of the Father God is Church.

In English - Church

In Greek - Ecclesia

Ec - from outside

Clesia - come and gather together 

• Ecclesia (congregation) is when all the people in the synagogue comes out and worship the Lord together in a great gathering.

Conclusion :

• We must give importance to all these three. 
• Only then can we function as a complete New Testament Temple. 
• Because in the New Testament, God does not dwell in temples made with hands. 
• The church is different, the church building is different. 
• Church building is made of only bricks and stones. 
• But the Church means, the people who gather in church.

As the Ark of the Covenant was inside the Old Testament Temple, 

The Word of the New Covenant (Scripture) should be there inside the New Testament Temple (Within our hearts).
