2) சேத் - நியமிக்கப்பட்டவன்(5:3)

“மனிதன் துக்கப்பட்டு மரணமடைய நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளான். மகிமையுள்ள தேவன் இறங்கி வந்து வசனத்தைக் கற்றுக் கொடுப்பார். அவருடைய மரணம் துக்கப்படுகிறவர்களுக்கு ஆறுதலையும், இளைப்பாறுதலையும் பெற்றுக் கொடுக்கும்”.

When we read Genesis 5:5, we might wonder why the verse merely records Adam’s genealogy. There is a beautiful message in the meaning of these names. Looking at the Hebrew translation of these names, we see:

1) Adam - Man (Genesis 5:2)
2) Seth - Appointed One (5:3)
3) Enosh - Mortal (5:6)
4) Kenan - Sorrow (5:9)
5) Mahalalel - The Blessed God (5:12)
6) Jared - Shall come down (5:15)
7) Enoch - Teaching (5:18)
8) Methuselah - His death shall bring (5:21)
9) Lamech - Powerful (5:25)
10) Noah - Rest (5:29)
